2:30 AM National Drugs and Alcohol Facts Week is a national health observance is sponsored by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). The brain regulates your body's basic functions, enables you to interpret and respond to everything you experience, and shapes your behavior. Drugs can alter important brain areas that are necessary for life-sustaining functions and can drive the compulsive drug use that marks addiction.
