Together: Family Recovery - New Town

6:00 PM SpiritWorks Foundation, in partnership with the HTDPC, is excited to offer the September Town Hall Event! Join us for two free film screenings of the documentary, “Together: Family Recovery”. This powerful film follows three families as they share their personal stories and perspectives on loving someone affected by addiction, highlighting the critical role families play in the recovery process.  Our very own Jan Brown is featured in the film as one of the experts on family recovery. UNMASKED: Breaking the Silence, Healing Our Teens

6:00 PM Families with youth ages 10-18 are encouraged to attend together Free to the Public Join the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for an open dialogue about mental health with a teen panel discussion, guest speaker, and resources. Partners: Bacon Street Youth and Family Services and Colonial Behavioral Health

Run for the Hills 5K

8:00 AM Here for the Girls, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the Colonial Road Runners announce the 16th annual Run for the Hills 5K/1 Mile Fun Run in Williamsburg, on the beautiful trails of New Town (starting at Sullivan Square located behind Legacy Hall, 4301 New Town Ave). The purpose of this popular event is to raise funds for young women affected by breast cancer. The family-friendly event begins at 8:00 am with a health expo featuring the screening and prevention village followed by a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at 9:00 am and the 5K at 9:30 am. The expo will remain open throughout the event and the race will be followed by awards and refreshments at Sullivan Square.

10:00 AM Let's team up for NAMI Walks 2025! Join our team on Saturday, October 4th from 10am - 1pm at Veterans Park or make a donation if you so choose. Together, we can do something powerful about achieving Mental Health for all.
