York Co. 2nd Annual Halloween Bash

6:00 PM A fun-filled evening for families in the community!

Candy and treats for little ghosts and goblins. It’s a great way to connect with families, showcase your organization, and spread some Halloween cheer.

There will be candy, small giveaways, decorations, costumes, and fun guaranteed!

National Drug Takeback Day

10:00 AM Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. That's why it was great to see thousands of folks from across the country clean out their medicine cabinets and turn in - safely and anonymously - a record amount of prescription drugs. Take Back Day

Veterans' Poetry Workshop

11:00 AM After her appointment in November 2024, Virginia Poet Laureate Mattie Quesenberry Smith wanted to complement these programs with “Perseverance and Resilience,” a veterans poetry project designed to promote veterans’ poetic expression as another way to cultivate perseverance and resilience that are necessary for veterans’ long-term well-being. The Poetry Society of Virginia is dedicated to facilitating this project through co-sponsorship of an anthology of poetry and illustrations to be published in 2026. Veteran's Poetry Project
