The overdose crisis doesn’t just shatter our families, it fractures our communities.  The losses go deeper than one person, one family or one neighborhood. They ripple out into classrooms, workplaces and the spaces we all share. They cross borders between cities, states and nations.

Join us for two free film screenings of the documentary, “Together: Family Recovery”. This powerful film follows three families as they share their personal stories and perspectives on loving someone affected by addiction, highlighting the critical role families play in the recovery process.  Our very own Jan Brown is featured in the film as one of the experts on family recovery. Partners: Bacon Street Youth and Family Services and Colonial Behavioral Health

08:00 AM Here for the Girls, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the Colonial Road Runners announce the 16th annual Run for the Hills 5K/1 Mile Fun Run in Williamsburg, on the beautiful trails of New Town (starting at Sullivan Square located behind Legacy Hall, 4301 New Town Ave). The purpose of this popular event is to raise funds for young women affected by breast cancer. The family-friendly event begins at 8:00 am with a health expo featuring the screening and prevention village followed by a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at 9:00 am and the 5K at 9:30 am. The expo will remain open throughout the event and the race will be followed by awards and refreshments at Sullivan Square.
